Thank you for the nice comments, and liking his tail sail Winking smile I got to looking at him in the B&W photo and thought WOW he looks silvery! This retrieve was actually on a small island in the pond, so the dog had to enter the water, get out at the island and get their bird and then enter the water again, as you can see it wasn’t really deep enough to swim. He did a great job though and made a straight line there and back.

This ‘N That Thursday

Thank you all for the congratulations, I will pass them on to Titan and his trainer Smile

I have good news on Cheyenne, she does not have Addison’s however, since she is clear of this and Pyometra her Doctor is not sure what was going on with her. One of those mystery things I guess, but she is MUCH better. Still working on getting weight back on her, I have increased her daily food by about a cup and was so excited to see how much she had gained so I took her to the vets office to weigh her only to find out she has only gained 1oz. ARE YOU KIDDING ME, only 1oz.!! So I will have to talk to the Doctor about it and see what she thinks. Weaning her off the prednisone and then we will repeat the blood work (CBC) to see if her levels are back to normal and see where we go from here. She is pretty much her old self now so she said I could share this photo Winking smile

Enjoying some fresh air on the front porch!

Things are short today, I have been so busy the past couple of months. Work and some personal issues going on that have been consuming a great deal of my free time. Hopefully in the next few weeks things will slow down and get back to normal, whatever that is Winking smile

Thanks to Jodi at Heart Like A Dog and her co-hostess Flea for hosting this hop. Why don’t you grab the badge and join in.

Thank you all for the wonderful comments you left for this photo, I really appreciate them. There was one that really stood out to me, why you ask, well because it came from an expert on piggy tails!

Thanks for the compliments on this one, I took it with my phone so not the greatest quality and trying to capture the little bugger before he got away was a bit tricky.

Who is this?

This is my beautiful Cheyenne just one month ago; she was enjoying a nice swim at my family reunion.

This ‘N That Thursday

Thank you all for the prayers and well wishes for Cheyenne. She continues to improve but we still do not have the rest of the results from her blood work. I will keep you posted.

I do have some exciting news; this weekend will be Titan’s first hunt test. He has been training hard and doing great, he loves his work! This is a photo my friend Michelle shared with me, they were working with pheasants. This boy is all muscle! I can not wait to watch him run the test.

Oh Judy I wish these were my horses, but sadly no. They did however win!!

“Wonderful pic. i love draft horses

JoAnn drafts are my favorite too, especially Percheron’s.

This photo was from the Draft Horse Pull at the fair. I go every year, it one of the highlights of the fair for me. This team did win, the sled is called a boat, which weighs about 1400 pounds,  the weights are added once each team does a pass, they said each block weighs about 400 pounds. I believe the pass is pulling the load past 24 feet. A little lingo they use, hooking up, the team on their way on the field to hook and pull, on deck, the team next up, in the hole, the team waiting to go after the on deck team. It was down to two teams, the ones that won last year and this team, the weight was over 7000 pounds and it was very close, winning team made the pass and the runner up made 22 feet. They are spectacular to watch, the horses must work together in order to pull. Here are a few more shots…

“Those are some great fair photos. Love the first chicken one.

Gizmo said…

“That first chicken is amazing! The duck (3rd photo) looks like my muscovy’s, but mine are all black…never have seen a brown one before

He was one of my favorites too! If I ever live some where I can have chickens I want one of these just because he looks so cool Smile And I think I could make some pretty nice jewelry from those feathers, well only from the naturally shed ones that is.

Gizmo I wondered what kind of duck that was, I thought he looked very interesting.

Fair 2013 (22)

Thanks everyone for the well wishes on my fair entries, overall I did pretty well. I forgot to take a photo of my jewelry before fair but here are the things I placed with…

Animalcouriers asked…

“Happy Birthday Riva – do tell us what’s in that cake!

You can find the recipe here, it’s super easy!

easyweimaraner asked…

“Is it the same recipe you used for Titan’s cake?

Why yes it is Easy!

Thanks for the feedback, a couple people really liked the baby ducks, that’s one of my favorites too.

“You have your work cut out for you…I might do a bit more with the “color enlargement”…Maybe crop it a bit and get the colors more vibrant? All the others I’d leave just as they are..good luck (PS show us some pictures of your jewelry when it’s done)

Thanks Gizmo, unfortunately the rules do not allow me to alter the photos, which I did not know until I just happen to read the rules while looking for something else. Glad I saw it because I was going to enhance a couple of them. I will definitely post my jewelry when I get it done.

“Poor Maia! We had a yellowjacket infestation here last year and it was horrible…Their stings are the worst…Guess what…we have a dinosaur world about 30 minutes from here on the way to Tampa…it’s dog-friendly and our Doggie Social Club had an outing there

Wow an infestation would be horrible, you are right they are the worst, some people think they are bees but they are really in the wasp family. That is so cool you have a Dinosaur World near you and I will have to see if this one is pet friendly because I would love to be able to take one of the dogs with us on the trip.

I want to take a moment and thank all our new followers and those who have stopped by to comment, I really appreciate all of you!!
