“B&W seems to make it look cold and wintery
That is what I thought too, this was taken a few years ago and it was winter time.

“Wonderful pic. i love draft horses
JoAnn drafts are my favorite too, especially Percheron’s.
This photo was from the Draft Horse Pull at the fair. I go every year, it one of the highlights of the fair for me. This team did win, the sled is called a boat, which weighs about 1400 pounds, the weights are added once each team does a pass, they said each block weighs about 400 pounds. I believe the pass is pulling the load past 24 feet. A little lingo they use, hooking up, the team on their way on the field to hook and pull, on deck, the team next up, in the hole, the team waiting to go after the on deck team. It was down to two teams, the ones that won last year and this team, the weight was over 7000 pounds and it was very close, winning team made the pass and the runner up made 22 feet. They are spectacular to watch, the horses must work together in order to pull. Here are a few more shots…
This is the boat at the beginning.
Adding more, two blocks at a time.
Last years winners!
Winning team!
Walking up to hook on.

“Those are some great fair photos. Love the first chicken one.

“That first chicken is amazing! The duck (3rd photo) looks like my muscovy’s, but mine are all black…never have seen a brown one before
He was one of my favorites too! If I ever live some where I can have chickens I want one of these just because he looks so cool And I think I could make some pretty nice jewelry from those feathers, well only from the naturally shed ones that is.
Gizmo I wondered what kind of duck that was, I thought he looked very interesting.
Thanks everyone for the well wishes on my fair entries, overall I did pretty well. I forgot to take a photo of my jewelry before fair but here are the things I placed with…
Well that’s a wrap…Thanks to Jodi at Heart Like A Dog and her co-hostess Linda from the 2 Brown Dawgs for hosting this hop. Why don’t you grab the badge and join in.
