Very beautiful. Happy day after Black and White Sunday (we’re more like the tortoise than the hare this week!).

Oh Miss Harper Lee I am right far behind you Winking smile

Beautiful! I’ve tried shooting rabbits but I’m just not quick enough (or maybe not quiet enough)

Great picture. We have bunnies in our yard but I never catch a picture of them.

I don’t think I was as quick as I was fortunate to be in the right place at the right time. We just happened to stop to look at a house and when I pulled in I saw these guys fly across the yard, running and playing, they were bouncing all over the place. So you see I missed some great shots by time I got the camera out and jumped out of the van but I finally did get a few like this one.

Wordless Wednesday ~ Orange Moon

That’s great – I had no clue that an orange moon exists. I’ll bet this moon is magic :o )

Awesomeness. My pictures of the moon never come out nice.

This was taken on June 23 very early in the morning, we were staying at my friends for the weekend for the Judges Education Seminar and I had gotten up to let the dogs out. I was doing one dog at a time so I didn’t  wake anyone, so I had walked outside with the first one and looked up and saw this beauty so of course when I swapped out dogs I grabbed my camera. I have never seen the moon so orange, I found some interesting things about it here and also here.

Jodi I honestly take at least a dozen photos before I get one that is somewhat usable. I was told it has something to do with camera shake when you zoom as much as I do to try to get a good close up shot. I have the setting on my camera set to help with that but I haven’t noticed where it has made much difference. If I had a tripod it might help, for this one I finally rested my elbows on the banister of the deck to try and stabilize myself. Here are a few of my failed attempts…

This ‘N That Thursday

Thank you all for the lovely comments and compliments. The Ridgeback’s were so beautiful and such a majestic breed. I think the heat and humidity was getting to everyone and yes Jodi it really does suck the life right out you Winking smile

Now last but certainly not least I have a confession to make…I am a bad doggie mom! I forget to put up a post about a very special day that occurred on Sunday, a birthday.

Cheyenne turned 10 years old, at least I didn’t forget her that day. She had a very yummy birthday cake. I can’t believe she is already 10, I look at her and think it just can’t be possible that all those years have passed. She is a very special girl who has given me such joy and unconditional love. She is my shadow!

She shared some with Riva and Maia but as you can see she was looking to see if they might have left some more for herSmile

Well that wraps up our Friday, thanks to Jodi at Heart Like A Dog and her co-hostess Donna from Donna and the Dogs for hosting this hop. Why don’t you grab the badge and join in.

    1. Long story, but we will be moving within the next year.

Thanks, but I always like to do a blog birthday post especially this one because it was #10 but she doesn’t care about that as long as she gets the goods 😉

  1. Hey Misty, thanks for joining the blog hop!

I’m so glad you put that bunny picture up, I hadn’t noticed in the b&w that there were two!!

Thanks for sharing your tips on the photos, I’ve got terribly shaking when I try and film something and the zoom on my little point and shoot isn’t that great. I do love that moon picture though!

And lastly but certainly not least, a very Happy Belated Birthday to Cheyenne, I can’t believe how quickly the time flies either. BTW, that’s a pretty nice cake you made for her. 🙂

  2. Happy Birthday to Cheyenne 🙂 That bunny shot in color looks more like a painting…actually it reminds me a lot of an illustration in a children’s book

  3. I am so far behind so this is a very belated Happy Birthday to Cheyenne!

A tripod probably would help with the camera shake, especially since it was dark and that can add more blur. Many of the books I have been reading suggest a tripod for sunrise/sunset or low light pictures. I am still debating whether to get one or not.

When I was buying my camera and talking to the guy about lenses, he told me that unless the zoom lens has a built in stabilizer, you need a tripod. Doing research, some stabilizers are better than others. (Don’t ask me the mechanics of it all…lol). The reason so many zoom lenses are so expensive is that stabilizer and of course the glass on the very best lenses. But he was talking about lenses with zoom 300+.

Still, you got a nice picture tripod or no. 🙂
