Today we are joining our friends Jodi over at Heart Like A Dog and her co-hostess Kari, from Hound Girl for Follow-up Friday, the blog hop that lets you wrap up your week and leads you right into the weekend.
Thanks Jodi!

Sand Spring Chesapeakes asked…
“is it your little barn?”
This is one of the barns on my friends over at Dusty Rose Chesapeakes grandpas farm where we do some of our training. I thought it looked kind of cool and would make a great B&W photo.
Wordless Wednesday ~ May we join you for lunch?
Long Life Cats and Dogs said…
“What a gorgeous shot. What birds are those?”
Thank you so much, these are Sand-hill Cranes that wondered in to our family reunion last year. I was so excited to be able to get pretty close for photos and of course zoom helps too.
This ‘N That Thursday
Heart Like A Dog (@HeartLikeADog) asked…
“Can you explain about the latex babies?”
and
Flea asked…
“Wait – you give her fake babies two months after a heat? That’s … is that the normal thing to do?”
Sorry I wasn’t more clear in my post…Maia is going through a false pregnancy. The latex babies are not anything I gave her, she has picked one very special latex toy that she thinks is her baby and packed it around very gently in her mouth, slept with it tucked up to her and if she couldn’t find it she would get a bit frantic; which this was my indication she may be having a false pregnancy. The litter was added to when she decided that the little latex football and latex crab made very nice babies too. Female dogs do this sometimes and Maia’s mother, Riva did it almost every heat cycle. She was starting to get a bit over board with it so I took them away (weaned ) to see if she would just get over it quickly, so far so good. I didn’t have time today but I will try to find some info on it and post next Friday for you guys.
Well that’s a wrap, why don’t you grab the badge and join the hop!

Thanks for explaining the latex babies. Like Flea I thought it might be something you gave her. Poor sweet thing.
I like the barn in black and white, there is something about those weathered buildings that are just so beautiful in black and white. 🙂
Thanks for joining the blog hop Misty, I hope you have a great weekend.

No problem, always glad to explain things, I never know if I am giving to much or too little in my posts but figure that’s what yours and 2browndawgs hops are for 😉

I just can’t help feeling sorry for a dog that goes through the false pregnancy. Poor thing, although rather cute at the same time. Thanks for the info on the Sand-Hill Cranes. They really are quite beautiful birds and how wonderful to have them visiting you.

I know I felt bad for her but the babies had to go so she would get past this quickly. They are quite a majestic bird, glad you enjoyed them.

We were advised to put all toys away when Storm came into season. Not that it stopped her from having a false pregnancy, she just got over it a bit quicker. Also getting her out doing something like training helped. I think the only time she did not have a bad one was when she was off at Darrin’s training. 🙂
I think that B&W picture is very nice.

Thanks on the B&W photo.
All toys hidden and we were gone all weekend so now all seems back to normal, thank goodness 🙂

I cannot wait until Storm is spayed so we don’t have to deal. Will probably happen after hunting season so it means we will have to hide things one more time…lol.
