Well believe it or not today’s post is not about Maia…nope this one is about a certain male house guest.

Yep you guessed it, my mischief dog this last week has been Trail!

You see I have had girls in season since Trail and Bitsy arrived, Maia was getting towards the end and right after they arrived Riva came in. Now I know how the boys are when the girls are in season, thankfully he is neutered but that does not stop the hormones, it just means he can’t make babies. I have done my best to keep them separated but twice now I have caught him trying to do something he shouldn’t, he was apprehended right away so nothing happened. But I tell you I will be glad when she is done. In keeping with my G rating for this blog there will be no mischief photos Winking smile

  2. Oh that’s a hard job. We had a dog in season here too, they were separated, but Easy was howling like an air-raid siren. After some time, I wanted to howl too :o)

    1. I know and I don’t think he really understands what is going on, I think this is the first time he has ever been around females in heat. I have been very lucky in the past that the girls were either already finished by time he came to stay or weren’t due yet 🙂

  9. Poor babies. We had a pitt mix in heat here this weekend. My old neutered boy wasn’t even tempted. But she looked just miserable. I guess we females ARE miserable in that way.

    1. You said it FleaByte, Riva has figured out if she just sits when she is in the same room with him he leaves her alone. Luckily she is almost done, but can’t be soon enough for me 😉 That’s great your boy wasn’t interested.

  12. I just checked out your website, and it looks like we have a lot in common! I also breed, and show dogs, collies. In the ten years we have been involved in collies, we have only had two litters. But we have helped my sister who has been involved with collies for 20 years. We are in a local breed club, and the Collie Club of America. Unlike chessies, who do fieldwork events, our club holds herding events. It’s nice to meet you!

    1. So nice to meet you too, and thank you for checking out my website. I love to watch the herding events, I have had the opportunity to watch them a couple of times. I love to see dogs do the job they were bred to do 🙂
